* FREEChicago Country Music Festival, Oct 8, 9Millennium Park, N Michigan Ave at Randolph St (explorechicago.org). 11am–9pm. This annual hootenanny might not draw massive crowds like other City of Chicago music fests, and that’s a shame—it always has a great lineup of new and classic country acts. Millennium Park is the new setting for this year’s free festival of country music.
Decibelle, Oct 14–16Various locations around Chicago (decibelle.org). Thu, Fri 8pm–2am; Sat 6pm–3am; $5–$20. Hit up this gay but straight-friendly music fest formerly known as Estrojam. The fete supplies tunes, including underground phenomenon Nola Sissy Bounce, along with workshops and panel discussions. Check the website for venue and workshop info.
