At this free event, you'll experience the work of Christian Campbell, a Trinidadian-Bahamian poet who’s earned a trophy case’s worth of awards and honors, including being the youngest person to deliver the annual Derek Walcott Lecture for Nobel Laureate Week in St. Lucia. Campbell is the author of the gutsy poetry collection Running the Dusk, which won a Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize and was a finalist for the Forward Prize for the Best First Collection and the Cave Canem Prize. Running the Dusk was translated into Spanish by Aida Bahr and published in Cuba as Correr el Crepúsculo. Campbell has received awards and fellowships from the Lannan Foundation, Arvon Foundation, Fine Arts Work Center and Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, among others. Admission to this one-night event is totally free with registration.

Presented in partnership by the Poetry Foundation and the Writing Program, School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
