Iceland is one of the hottest destinations for international tourists, but you don't have to leave Chicago to experience the Nordic island nation. Icelandic culture comes to venues throughout the city during the annual Taste of Iceland in Chicago, which showcases food, music and movies from the country where Game of Thrones is filmed. Michelin-starred West Loop restaurant Elske will serve a special Fire & Ice pop-up menu from April 11 through 14, featuring dishes prepared by Icelandic chef Gunnar Karl Gíslason. Plus, LondonHouse Chicago hosts an Icelandic cocktail class (April 11), musician Sólveig Matthildur turns in a late-night performance at Underground (April 12), a lineup of Icelandic artist perform a free concert at Martyrs’ (April 13) and the Logan Theatre screens a lineup of Nordic short films (April 13).
