Sure, you could watch giant inflatable cartoon characters float through the streets on TV, but you should really go downtown and witness this Thanksgiving tradition in person. Chicago's annual Thanksgiving Parade takes over State Street (between Congress Parkway and Randolph Street) with a procession of floats, marching bands and local celebrities. The festivities will kick off at 8am and run through 11am, which should give you plenty of time to get home and stuff your face.
