Back when abortion was illegal in Illinois in the '60s and '70s, The Jane Collective, an underground network of reproductive rights activists, helped provide low-cost and free abortions to more than 10,000 women. You can learn more about their efforts—and how you can help the present-day fight for abortion rights now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned—at this documentary screening in Holstein Park, which will feature a showing of the HBO doc The Janes as well as a discussion with original members of The Jane Collective and producer David Arcana. The event is free, but bring a blanket or chair for watching the movie.
