Masters of the Italian Baroque in Croatia

During the Renaissance period, many Italian painters were active on the Adriatic coast, filling cathedrals and churches large and small with their canvases. This major exhibition brings many of these paintings together for the first time; major artists such as Leandro Bassano, Sebastiano Ricci and Padovanino receive the lion’s share of the attention, although the sheer wealth and variety of work on display here are something of a revelation.
