The MasterCard Book Boat - Boat of Culture will set sail on the Adriatic sea for the tenth time this month. Like a regular cruise ship, the boat boasts luxury facilities and a route that stops by idyllic locations. Unlike a regular cruise ship, it has a host of brilliant authors on board.

Setting off from Makarska, the Book Boat sails along the sunny Adriatic coast, stopping by fourteen towns - highlights are Zadar, Rab and Krk. Some of Croatia's best-loved writers will be on board, along with guests from the US. They'll be reading from their books and doing signings. There will be theatre shows too, as well as concerts and creative workshops for children. This year the programme is dedicated to celebrated Croatian author Marija Jurić Zagorka, the country's most-read writer in history.
