With advent well underway, the centre of Zagreb is in full-throttle Christmas mania. Luckily, this pop-up winter garden is the perfect escape. Just minutes from the main square, it offers an alternative kind of advent, with a weekend-long party starting tomorrow.
Set in the secretive Summer Stage Tuškanac, this festive booze-up features artwork from some of Zagreb's best street artists and a great dance-leaning line-up. UK DJ Big Danny Kane kicks off proceedings tomorrow and on Friday, radio show Adriatic Coasting with Nick and Pepi comes to the stage. Saturday sees DJ Bizzo Bodega by Noss ('Not Ordinary Sneaker Store') take to the decks, and Sunday's set 'Winter Chill with DJ Flaneur' will lead the opening weekend to a laid-back close.
Treats on offer include expertly poured gin from A Most Unusual Garden, excellent burgers from Submarine, and the Garden Brewery's craft beer. The star of the show is their speciality Christmas porter; with dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee flavours, it's rich and delicious, and, at 6.7%, it's almost certain to inspire festive cheer.
