After weeks of grey skies and thunderstorms, Croatia is about to be hit by a heatwave.

Though the recent spell of cooler weather will continue in the early part of the week, the met service forecast says that Thursday will see things heat up, with temperatures set to soar to 35°C. The heatwave will last until at least the end of the month, and is bound to herald hundreds of sun-burnt tourists.

According to meteorology forecasting service Accuweathr, the whole country will be swept by scorching weather over the summer months - with some areas set to get less than half the average rainfall.
