Dubrovnik has mastered the art of making trendy bars from natural features. Across the medieval city, you'll find terraces carved into cliff faces, and tables perched on rocks. But the nearby town of Lapad has come up with quite the rival: a bar in an underground cave.

Cave Bar More is tucked away in a natural cavern, which was only discovered when construction on the partner hotel was underway. You can reach it by lift or stairs from the hotel's main lobby, and once you've reached its cool, dank depths, you can recline between its craggy walls and booze away - the bar's got an extensive a menu as any standard over-ground bar. Music is ambient and the atmosphere relaxed.

If the darkness gets a bit much, escape is never far away: there's an outdoor terrace too, teetering at the sea front and tailored toward sunset-watching.
