Pssst! Silent Film Festival
Time Out says
Now in its 13th year, this is one of the last remaining silent film festivals which still prizes contemporary silent film and rewards makers of such within its main competition programme. Aside from the modern entries in competition, there are screenings of classic silent films from many countries and from throughout the ages. The festival has previously shown masterpieces of Russian, Danish, Japanese and Swedish cinematography and this year one of the festival's main themes is the relations between psychoanalysis and silent film. Films are often accompanied by live background music, just like the old days. Films screened in the main programme compete for the Brcko Grand Prize, named after the protagonist of Croatia’s first feature film 'Brcko in Zagreb' shot back in 1917.
