The Hotel Porin is a lovely, central three-star spot, situated rather marvellously in a late 19th-century Renaissance-style palace-cum-fortress, once used as the town library. Renovated into a hotel in 2002, this palace offers two dozen beds in seven rooms, with one two-floored apartment. It’s right by the sea, and has terraces either side and a panoramic one on the roof – though in high season it’s affected by noise from the bars downstairs. Come before the crowds or flop here after a nearby barhop. It's a good place at which to end a night.
