Reopened in 2012 after thorough renovation, the four-star Punta offers a choice between self-catering apartments in the shoreside building, or smart well-equipped doubles in the terraced building just behind it. It's one of the best places in the Kvarner Gulf to enjoy an invigorating spa-holiday break: As well as an indoor pool, the Punta's wellness area includes the Iuvena massage centre (full body massage 290kn), and a studio devoted to PBS body technique, a blend of mixture of pilates, yoga and aquagym exercises pioneered by Zagreb-based fitness innovator Ana-Marija Jagodić Rukavina. The PBS studio also offers the chance to experience the benefits of gravitronics – a yoga-based exercise that involves swinging in slings suspended from the ceiling (60-minute individual sessions from 280kn). the Laurus aromatherapy centre offers essential oils based on the plants and herbs that grow naturally on the island. You can sign up for essential-oil treatments, participate in oil-making workshops, or buy the Laurus-produced Lošinj Pomade, an anti-ageing cream made from the health-giving local flora. If all you want is sea and sunshine, the Punta has got a rocky-slab beach right in front of it.
