Franciscan Monastery: Archaeological Museum, Treasury and Sacral Collection

In the centre of Punat Bay is the islet of Košljun with it's Franciscan monastery (Benedictine until the 15th century). This is part nature park, with over 400 plant species, and part cultural heritage; an ethnographic collection, a library with more than 30,000 titles and archaeological, natural-history and numismatic museum collections. A must see is Francesco Ughetto's 'Heaven, Purgatory, Hell' an epic 9.7m x 4.2m work by the 17th century Italian artist.
