[title]
No longer a place of worship but the unusual cylindrical shape of this Byzantine rotunda is an emblem of Zadar. Built at the beginning of the ninth century, in the pre-Romanesque period, its interior is a simple, high-ceilinged space with exceptional acoustics for set-piece concerts and events such as the St Donat Musical Evenings, (every July) for which the church is used today. The church is open daily for visitors in summer; off-season sightseeing access is highly unpredictable.
