A year after setting up a base in the Croatian capital, boldly investing in tourism during the pandemic, low-cost carrier Ryanair is doubling down on its move by offering 26 routes and 120,000-plus seats to Zagreb passengers from May.

The most popular is London Stansted, with daily flights, but other major hubs include Dublin, Milan Bergamo, Brussels Charleroi and Rome Fiumicino. Some are holiday destinations aimed at Zagreb locals – Paphos in Cyprus, Malta and Málaga, for example.

More flights are expected to be announced for later in the summer.

In further good news for tourism, Zagreb airport recorded 196,280 passengers through its doors for the month of March, a figure close to the last equivalent one pre-pandemic, 232,978 in 2019.
