Released today, July 21, in thousands of cinemas across the UK and US, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie was presented last night at a special late-night screening at the Pula Film Festival.

Due to run until this Sunday, July 23, the prestigious festival staged in the city’s Roman amphitheatre celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. While many of the entries are domestic productions in the local language, the late-night ‘Popular Pula’ slot also features Wes Anderson’s new film Asteroid City on Saturday. On Sunday, the awards ceremony takes place at the Valli cinema at Giardini 1.

The Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, with appearances by Will Ferrell and Dua Lipa, is expected to break box-office records in the States this summer.
