The popular coach of Croatia’s national football team, Zlatko Dalić, has opened his own restaurant in the city where he gained his first start in management, Varaždin. Occupying the former Palatin eatery at a major junction beside the city centre, The Family is dedicated to Croatia’s achievements under this modest motivator, who led the team to the final and semi-final of the World Cup in 2018 and 2022 respectively.
Stars of the side attended the recent opening, signing shirts now on display, presented along with medals, books and personal artefacts chosen by Dalić.
Croatian products are brought to the fore on the menu and wine list, and it is hoped that the restaurant will bring more visitors to this underrated Baroque town towards the Slovenian border. You’ll find The Family at the corner of ulica Braće Radić and main ulica Stanka Vraza.
