It's been just under a year since behemoth airline operator Emirates launched daily flights connecting Zagreb and Dubai, and thanks to its popularity, the airline has announced plans to expand the route with a further two weekly flights. EX-YU Aviation reports that these latest additions will boost inbound tourism with about 15000 extra seats.

The route has proved massively popular with Croatian and global markets, connecting the Far East, Australia and the Indian subcontinent with Zagreb and Croatia.

This news comes shortly after budget airline flydubia swooped in with the first flight route connecting Dubai and the coast, choosing Dubrovnik as its maiden destination. Emirates will also be code sharing this route which during the summer months will operate four times a week.

The latest Dubai - Zagreb services will continue to run using Emirates' fleet of  Boeing 777-300 aircraft, carrying 364 passengers, including 12 first class and 42 business class seats.
