A travel food show

During the summer of 2020, Gordon Ramsey travelled to Istria to film a show during which he cooked, learned about local produce, and rendezvoused with renowned local chef David Skoko.

The Istria-centred episode, part of Gordon Ramsey: Uncharted, season three, first aired earlier this year on National Geographic in English. Now, on September 19 at 9 PM Croatia time, National Geographic will also air the episode in Croatian.

The US-led Uncharted is an exciting series with which Ramsey has revived his television career. Ramsey is also one of the producers of this travel food show.

Local produce "second to none"

During his time in Croatia, Ramsey was full of praise, saying, "They said the Italian truffles were the best, but let me tell you, Croatia has some of the best truffles anywhere in the world... I have made scrambled eggs before, but never with such an amazing abundance of beautiful truffles. The produce locally here is second to none. Not only do we have the most amazing truffles, but also the most amazing goat’s cheeses. Pretty incredible."

Among other things, viewers can see Ramsey and Skoko lifting longlines for conger eels in a small boat with Skoko's father, learning Croatian lingo with Skoko's son, and grilling fish on the stunning Rovinj waterfront.

In addition to hanging out with Skoko and his family, Ramsey visited the famous Kumparička cheese factory, as well as a family donkey farm - plus, he underwent the quintessential Istrian truffle hunt.
