The London Calling Comedy Club was initially conceived 13 years ago as a project to bring the atmosphere of a classic stand-up night to Croatia, with line-ups that included veteran and newcomers from the circuit. It ran for five years and toured throughout the region. Its success led directly to huge stars such as Daniel Sloss and Jimmy Carr including Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia on their tours.

Now the London Calling Comedy Club is returning to its original format for a special two-night run in Zagreb and Rijeka.

Veteran Canadian comic Ron Vaudry was one of the first acts involved in the project years ago and integral in making LCC such a success. After he announce his retirement, the team behind the venture decided to organise two final gigs in his honour, closing out his storied career at Pri Nami in Zagreb on February 19, followed by his very last set on the Botel Marina in Rijeka two days later, February 21.

Joining Vaudry on the billing are two fellow alumni of London Calling: UK-based Kiwi comics Javier Jarquin and Sully O’Sullivan. Versatile Jarquin is not only a hilarious stand-up performer, he’s also known for his playing-card trick-shots as Card Ninja, in a show that has attracted sell-out crowds at the Edinburgh Fringe. O’Sullivan has also enjoyed recent Fringe success with his show A Complete Idiot’s Guide to New Zealand.

When: February 19 (Zagreb); February 21 (Rijeka)
WherePri Nami (Zagreb); Botel Marina (Rijeka)
Tickets: €10 (plus €1 booking fee). Zagreb tickets available here; Rijeka tickets available here.
