This Thursday, May 26, Split will be the scene of a football carnival when local club Hajduk play in the Croatian Cup Final against Rijeka.

The game takes place at the legendary Poljud Stadium at 7pm. For those who don’t have tickets, a fan zone is being set up on the seafront Riva, where a giant LED screen will broadcast the action.

Festivities begin at 11am with activities for kids, live music shows and competitions.

Dalmatia’s most popular club, Hajduk Split have trailed their rivals in recent years, last winning the cup in 2013 and the league 17 years ago. This season, however, the club pushed Dinamo Zagreb close for the title, thanks to goals from returning striker and local hero, Marko Livaja.
