The man who took Kinoteka to great culinary heights, Montenegrin chef Marko Đurašević has decided to up sticks and set up his own fine-dining restaurant, still staying in Split. Having worked at top dining destinations in Barcelona and Madrid, Đurašević took over the kitchen at Kinoteka to create Asian-influenced Mediterranean cuisine in the unique setting of the Diocletian’s Palace.

A message addressed to the chef on Kinoteka’s Facebook page reads: “Ahead of us is a new chapter… but we move on without our dear friend and chef Marko Đurašević. We are grateful to you for all the work in these past two wonderful years and we are honoured that you were part of the Kinoteka team. We wish you good luck in business and in private”.

Kinoteka will continue operations in a colonnaded Renaissance courtyard next door to the Kinoteka art cinema.
