Grab your boot, your top hat or your scotty dog and find your most trusted banker because the first Croatian edition of Hasbro's Monopoly has just hit the shelves.

The Croatian edition of the bestselling board game Monopoly has finally been released, one year after the project was initially announced.

Since it entered the marketplace in the '30s, Monopoly has dominated the world of board games, causing millions of heated family quarrels with its capitalism-in-miniature game playing.

Croatia has now joined the 111 countries which have their own localised editions of the famous board game. Suggestions for areas to include were put to the public, with major landmarks like Plitvice National Park, Dubrovnik and Hvar coming out on top. The long-list included over 5,000 potential landmarks.

The new Croatian Monopoly board can now be bought in shops across Croatia.
