It was one year ago that a grand opening ceremony unveiled the spectacular Pelješac Bridge, linking Komarna on the Dalmatian mainland and Brijesta on the Pelješac peninsula.

It has just been estimated that more than two million vehicles have since used the crossing, equivalent to half the population of Croatia, drivers happy to take advantage of bypassing Bosnian passport control either side of Neum.

Coupled with the recent news of a motorway extension to Dubrovnik by 2030, the bridge is seen as a major step forward for the transport infrastructure of Dalmatia.
