The hit Netflix historical drama Vikings: Valhalla is next being filmed in Dubrovnik, at locations yet to be announced.

The Viking Herald, a site run by and dedicated to those interested in Norse culture, has reported that producers were casting for local actors and extras in the Dalmatian resort this month.

Vikings: Valhalla is a dramatised spin-off from the Vikings series on the History channel, and takes place during the 11th century towards the end of the Viking Age. The first series was filmed in Ireland.

Following on from the phenomenal success of Game of Thrones, whose filming locations form part of popular walking tours, Dubrovnik will be pleased to welcome another potential money-spinner.
