We're excited by this new bagel and lobster restaurant in Zagreb

We're big fans of burgers and tacos at Time Out, so it's sad to see the back of the brilliant Taco & Buger Barr. But in this city swarming with burgers and fast-food joints, a new all-day bagel deli is something to be savoured.

Run by the team behind Rougemarin, Bagel & Lobster Barr (they've kept the odd spelling) is the follow-up venue and the capital's first dedicated bagel outfit.

In a city abundantly stocked with bakeries, it's strange that the humble bagel hasn't been given proper attention until now. This new bar delivers the goods.

For breakfast, you can pick from toasted bagels with slatherings of crème fraîche and chives, salmon pâté and fluffy scrambled eggs - served from 8.30 until 11am.

The daytime menu includes hot combos like salted beef topped with crumbling mature cheddar and grilled broccoli or melt-in-your-mouth prosciutto and brie spread with tangy pear chutney, plus classics like tomato and mozzarella. If you're in a hurry and taking away, these babies are quick, simple and affordable, priced between 24 and 56 kunas.

Now for the lobster. It's a bit gimmicky, repackaging the lobster-themed diners that reached peak popularity in London and New York a few years ago. At least in Croatia, you can guarantee deliciously fresh shellfish. It's served variously as lobster brioche, coconut bisque, croquettes and comes grilled.

There's a decent selection of sides, as well as an alcohol menu, so you can chase down your Saturday morning bagel with a beer, wine or cocktail. Or make a night of it.
