Bellavista

Just inside the Stubica gate to the Old Town, this aptly named eaterie above the main drag has a gorgeous view of the harbour below and the sea beyond, as well as a cheery interior, with white walls, light-blue trim and fishnets hanging from the ceiling. The waiter shows the day’s fresh catch and tells you how it will be cooked – a local calamari or sea bass in wine sauce, perhaps. There’s loads of good Croatian wine here, with a long list, but you may be just as happy with the house Malvazija. There’s no terrace but they throw the big windows open, making this a lovely setting for a very good meal.
