Fast food joints are habitual tourist traps. At first sight, they’re cheap and simple but by the end of it… Split is no different, cheap pizza slices on every corner. Bepa is a rare exception. A small venue on the main square, just opposite the old Town Hall, with a few tables outside, even fewer inside, Bepa provides food that is fast and surprisingly good. It actually promotes Dalmatian versions of fast food, such as squid, shrimp and small fish. There are also burgers and varied sandwiches, and not just the usual meat-and-bun stuff. It’s a little bit more expensive than those corner joints already described – but this is, in fact, food.

I agree with Kat below! BEPA! had a really well-designed feel to it and was clearly popular. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, but this was fine as it's located in the middle of the Palace with lots to see.

We feasted on their giant Dalmatian platter and (also giant) Salad bowl between three of us. The platter was great – everything was fresh and it was presented in a contemporary way. We also ordered the pulled pork burger, which was not bad, though just not served American-style with BBQ sauce as we expected. They also serve a range of classic Dalmatian dishes, but with their own twist on them, which I think is great and really sets BEPA apart. Finish off with a dessert!

Definitely one to visit for the exciting, affordable food and to soak up Split's buzzing evening atmosphere.

Loved this place!

Every table was taken and I was expecting great things. The prices are fine for the area and the whole branding and marketing is really great - had a very London shoreditch feel about it.

I couldn't decide what to order so my waitress recommended their homemade pasta which was served in a delicious creamy sauce with pancata in.

We searched around the area for somewhere to eat and we certainly made the best choice!
