Serving up Latin, Mediterranean and Asian fusion fare - and doing it very well - is no easy feat. Somehow, Zagreb's Jellyfish in Space has accomplished it with barely a flaw. The restaurant is located halfway between Zagreb's main Square of Ban Josip Jelačić and Maksimir Park. It's 10 minutes east by car (or 25 minutes walking) from the Square and 10 minutes west (or 25 minutes walking) from Maksimir. A sleek interior opens up to a small fairy-light-lit outdoor terrace - we recommend a seat on the terrace, weather permitting. With decent service and a brimming with music-and-laughter atmosphere, this is the perfect spot for a fun date night or outing with friends.
While you can visit Jellyfish in Space just for drinks or coffee, it'd be a shame to miss out on the culinary offering. All major cocktails are offered - but the house cocktails (don't miss the one with sake and cherry liqueur!) are the stars of the show, and come with a variety of alcohol bases and flavours to suit all palates. The menu is a mixed bag of Asian, Mediterranean, and Latin goodies - think everything from sushi, across tacos, to gyros. Where Jellyfish excels is its assorted, tapa-like plates through which you can try an array of menu items. It's well worth the touch-longer-than-average waiting time. We recommend the Zeus sliders - 3 mini 100% lamb burgers with delicious toppings ranging from mint to tzatziki sauce and pears - that come with fries. Also amazing is the Meat the Jelly platter, which also comes with fries, plus 3 different carne tacos and 2 different bao buns.
