This modest place isn't a bad or expensive choice for dinner, and as close to the heart of Dubrovnik as you can get. With a few tables in the shadow of St Blaise's church and another door in Lučarica, the Penatur is both prominent and intimate, its simple interior of oil paintings and shelves of Pelješac wine housing 40 or so guests. Most opt for fish – fresh and cheapish by the kilo – although decent meaty mains (rib steak, veal medallions) are also available. Throw in a bottle of Dingač or Pošip and you've got a satisfying supper.
