Don't let the name fool you – this is not an Indian restaurant but a Bosnian one, and rather good. The cuisine of landlocked Bosnia is meaty, with fine use of vegetables (particularly peppers) and cheeses. Thus the Taj Mahal special is a veal with mushrooms in a crispy shell, the vegetarian plate is laden with peppers and the recommended starter is fried peppers stuffed with kajmak, Bosnian cream cheese. Traditional Turkish-style baklava and thick, black Bosnian coffee round off a satisfying, exotic meal.

This is a very popular Bosnian restaurant in the old town of Dubrovnik. My friend and I shared the veal in vegetable and tomato sauce with pitta bread for dinner. It was full of flavor and fresh. Service was friendly, although at a busy night it could be quite slow. Reservation is recommended a day or a few hours in advance as it is often fully booked for dinner. Like any other restaurants in the Old Town, it is quite pricey, but this place is certainly not as touristy as some other places.
