In December, Dubrovnik turns into a fairy-tale city, and the Christmas Fair is its glistening centrepiece. Craftspeople present their work – including ceramics, glassware, toys and handmade decorations – and there's plenty of festive food too - mulled wine, bruštulani mjenduli (candied almonds), and traditional Dubrovnik sweet delicacies including kontonjata (quince cheese), prikle (doughnuts) and hrostule (deep fried biscuits). It's open from St Nicolas' Day to Epiphany.
