Lighting of the Advent Candle

Advent in Split kicks off with a ceremonial lighting of the first Christmas candle in front of St. Francis Church, the gorgeously gothic 13th-century church situated on the gentle incline up Marjan Mountain. The ceremony is accompanied by Croatian baroque music: local choirs CRO Patria, KUD Jedinstvo, SKAC and Glazbeni Laboratorij (Hari Zlodre) sing choral tunes to get you into the spirit of things.
