The Kallay Collection

The Modern Gallery presents a remarkable collection of Croatian Modernist works from the Marko Kallay collection. This exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to see pieces which rarely enter public spaces, such as the 1916 Black Flag painted by the leading figure of the Croatian modernist movement, and the first curator of the Modern Gallery, Ljubo Babić. The exhibition also includes international avant-garde and contemporary art, placing Croatian Modernism in the wider context of global developments – a important perspective which is rarely visible elsewhere.
