Chefs and eateries from across Edinburgh have teamed up for the city’s second restaurant festival.

Taking place over ten days in October, Edinburgh Restaurant Festival will feature a programme of events alongside fixed-price lunch and dinner deals from more than 30 of the capital’s restaurants. Calistoga Restaurant, Contini Cannonball and Fishers in the City are among the restaurants offering three-course lunches for £15 and dinners for £25.

Opening the festival will be Chefs’ Table at The Hub on Castlehill. Paul Wedgwood, Mark Greenaway and Craig Hart – head chef at One Square at the Sheraton – will collaborate on a unique menu showcasing Scottish produce, and guests will also have the chance to chat with the chefs about their creations.

Other events will include a family-friendly fun day at Grassmarket on October 10; a screening of ‘Chocolat’, served with a three-course meal and two cocktails inspired by the film, at The Forth Floor Restaurant at Harvey Nichols on October 13; and pop-up experience Edinburgh Street Feastival at St Andrew Square, which will include street food dishes for £5 accompanied by music from local DJs.

John Donnelly, chief executive of Marketing Edinburgh, says the festival aims to celebrate the variety and diversity of Edinburgh’s dining scene and allow diners to find out more about the faces behind the food.
