You will not need telling that this is not a typical Oscars year. At one point, the biggest awards ‘long shot’ was that they’d even happen at all, but they are and there’s plenty to look for to – not least in discovering what the exactly they will look like in an age of social distancing. And the nominees are a stellar bunch, especially in a year that had its release calendar shot out from under it. Nomadland is the hot favourite to win Best Picture, but there’s plenty up for grabs going into the ceremony. There will be deserving winners and undeserving ones. There will be fashion misfires. There will be wifi problems. There will be TV coverage (Mon April 26 on Sky Cinema, 1am-4am). See you there.

When are the Oscars?
The ninety-third Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, April 25, 2021

Where are the Oscars?
The annual awards ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, LA’s Union Station and a variety of famous people’s living rooms.
