A film festival celebrating films made by and about queer, trans, intersex and people of colour will begin in Glasgow this week.

Glitch will include a mixture of films, video art, documentaries and shorts. But that’s not all – the programme will also feature Q&As with filmmakers, panel discussions, live music and even free haircuts.

The festival is organised by Digital Desperados, an organisation which provides free film-making courses for women of colour and runs film screenings which are open to all.

They’ve described the event as a contemporary snapshot of queer passions and preoccupations, and themes covered will include love, colonialism, death, sex work, mothers and children, pets, racism, poetry, nightlife, lipstick and more.

The organisers are keen to encourage cinema lovers and those with an interest in experimental film to attend, whether they identify as LGBT or not, and the aim is to make Glitch as inclusive as possible with all films featuring subtitles and all live events with BSL interpreters.

Entry to all of the events is free, although tickets are required, and the programme finishes with afterparties on March 28 at Saramago Cafe Bar and The Flying Duck.

Glitch, March 19–28, CCA, 350 Sauchiehall Street.
