Meet Sub Hub – the Sub Club’s pop-up sister loft venue on Buchanan Street, which is hosting all kinds of unique nights and events throughout April. For instance, a book launch this Tuesday March 31 for 'Detroit67' – Stuart Cosgrove’s history of that city’s most dramatic and creative year, from the breakup of The Supremes and Motown’s implosion to urban riots, escalating war in Vietnam and the emergence of The MC5 – as supported by an exclusive soul set from DJ Harri. And on Easter Sunday, an all-day loft party featuring installations, DJs, live sets, live visuals, a film screening and street food. Elsewhere, egg-citement (sorry) is high too for the Pressure and Electric Frog Easter Weekender at SWG3. Oh, and Mr Scruff’s in town too. It’s all happening.

Pressure and Electric Frog Easter Weekender SWG3, Fri Apr 3-Sun Apr 5
Pressure and Electric Frog team up for an Easter weekend of unadulterated house and techno hedonism, packing the SWG3 warehouse and spilling out into a marquee on Eastvale Place. It’ll welcome more special guests than you can shake a glowstick at, including Surgeon, Truss, Edit Select, Steve Bug, Lee Curtiss, Danny Krivit, Al Kent, Pistols At Dawn – deep breath – Ivan Kutz, Vitalic (live, pictured above), Josh Wink, Slam and many more.

Day of the Jaguar: Easter Sunday Loft Party – Sub Hub, Sun Apr 5
Night of the Jaguar comes out in the day time to team-up with the Sub Club for a family-friendly multimedia clubbing event. There’ll be DJs including Night of the Jaguar, Andrew (Huntley’s & Palmers) and MWX (Maxi Dance Pool/Magic Waves), a live set from Optimo Music’s Whilst, an 'interactive musical sculpture forest' installation, bespoke visuals by RSA New Contemporary artist Tim Dalzell, a film screening of essayistic documentary about the Soviet electronic age ‘Elektro Moskva’ (Electro Moscow) and street food courtesy of Devils Deli and No Way Back. And it’s free entry too. What more could you ask for?

Mr Scruff – The Admiral, Sun Apr 5
Cult Mancunian cut’n’paste DJ maestro, Ninja Tune stalwart and quirky illustrator Mr Scruff is renowned for his marathon DJ sets and his love of 'a nice cup of tea'. He’s been known to spin for up to six hours in some cases, though he has but a mere four-and-a-half hours to play with here as he visits Glasgow for an Easter Sunday spectacular promoted by Melting Pot. His latest album ‘Friendly Bacteria’ arrived last year, so expect a smattering of stuff from that among all the hits to make you dance and smile in about equally crazed proportion.
