How does it feel to start touring again after the lockdowns?

This break did me good. It allowed me to refocus my activities, to let go of things that weren't so important in the end.

I reworked the show trying to have more impact on the public without being in the debauchery of technical means. So it made me better by forcing me to have only good ideas rather than relying on technical effects.

You'll perform in İstanbul this weekend. You performed here several times before, what do you like most about İstanbul?

I like the fact that Istanbul is a crossroads between the East and the West. This diversity of people and culture inspires me a lot. I think this city is very similar to my music and my little republic: melancholic with a chaotic side. I feel alive in this kind of context.

You announced your "brand new show" on Instagram. What does this new show of yours entail? What should we expect?

I've been touring internationally for over 10 years  with my concept of an imaginary Republic. I have played in front of thousands of people with different shows and musicians each time. For this show I'm using everything I've honed over the years while presenting a show that I would dream of seeing as an audience. There will be 2 vocalists, a horn section and myself with my sampler and modular synth. The musical repertoire of Kadebostany is wide and we play our hits as well as new songs not yet released. There will also be a special guest artist from Istanbul with whom I collaborate in the studio right now: singer and trumpet player Baris Demirel!

How did you prepare for your Istanbul performance at Klein Phönix?

Simply by touring the new show in a lot of extraordinary venues for the last 3 months! The show is well established and we are all looking to make the public go crazy night after night, city after city. We have an ultra-conquering logic, we are here to show off and make people addicted to Kadebostany!

How was the lockdown for you? Where did you spend it? Did you make any new songs during that period?

Honestly this lockdown allowed me to take a break from touring so could spend s lot of time writing new songs in my studio in Switzerland .

I did some things that were close to my heart like creating my own TV channel KADEBOSTANY TV.
