Time Out says

Imagine suddenly finding a lush green space while walking the streets of Karaköy. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the French Passage, Cocodema is a peaceful oasis for those seeking a break from the city's hustle and bustle. Originating in 2017 as a plant design workshop, the space has taken on a brand new identity, bringing joy to coffee and dessert lovers.

When you step into Cocodema, brought to life by Sibel Gürcüoğlu, who creates plant-focused designs with an upcycling and enduring aesthetic approach, the first thing that greets you is the fresh atmosphere created by the plants. Every detail in the space has been meticulously considered; objects blend with nature's aesthetic, and the décor is simple and characterful. Moreover, most of the objects and furniture are available for purchase. The coffee menu, prepared with beans from various regions, offers classic options as well as innovative surprises. For matcha enthusiasts, the menu includes a few special recipes; don't miss out! Now, let's move on to the dessert menu… Fresh croissants can accompany your morning coffee here. If you love cheesecake, you should definitely stop by Cocodema. Their seasonal fig, coffee, and strawberry cheesecake varieties are freshly made daily. Noğa Lemon Cheesecake, a tie-in with Noğa Coffee in Rize's Çağlayan Village, is a clear favorite. All the desserts are handmade with natural ingredients, and edible flowers are frequently used in the presentation. You can also find vegan and vegetarian-friendly desserts on the menu.

If you're a plant enthusiast, Cocodema will win you over not only with its desserts but also with its workshops and plant swaps. You can strengthen your connection with nature with the plant workshops held on weekends, and add some new plants to your living space by participating in plant swaps.

Open daily from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Cocodema serves croissants until 2:30 pm, and coffee and desserts are available throughout the day. If you're in Karaköy and want to take a breather, find some inspiration, and savor a variety of flavors, head to Cocodema.
