Looking for things to do in Johannesburg this coming weekend, 10 April to 12 April 2026? We've got the perfect guide to keep you, the family and your friends entertained.

Remind us again why a four-day work week still is not the norm? The Easter break arrived at exactly the right moment, but reality is setting back in as the five-day routine returns next week.
Still, let us not get ahead of ourselves. The weekend is just around the corner, and there is plenty to look forward to. If there is one thing we know about Jozi, it is that the city knows how to have a good time in any weather, and this time we are in luck with sunny skies on the horizon.
With temperatures expected to reach 27 degrees Celsius, according to the South African Weather Service, it is the perfect excuse to get outside and soak up the sun.
Whether you are in the mood to cool off at one of the city’s top spots or keen to play tourist a little closer to home, there is no shortage of options. Neighbourhoods like Parkhurst and Melville are full of great places to explore, offering everything from good food and drinks to memorable experiences.
But if you're after something a little more upbeat, a dance-the-night-away kind of weekend, we’ve rounded up events you can’t miss.
It’s one thing to go out, grab a meal, and enjoy some music, but it’s a whole different experience when that music is live. Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer Jordan Arts will be at the Greenhouse, delivering an experience you won’t forget any time soon.
Held every Sunday, the Rosebank Sunday Market offers a variety of attractions perfect for the whole family. From craft stalls and food traders to live music, thrifted clothing and kids’ entertainment, it’s a great weekend activity that won’t break the bank (depending on how much you shop, that is).
If you’ve been wanting to catch South African comedian Alan Committie’s 28th brand new solo show, AV-A-LAUGH-TA, this weekend is your final chance. Directed by Christopher Weare, the show dives into the events and madness of 2025 and 2026 (let’s be honest, there have been many).
Cirque Du Rave lands at Sognage on April 11, blending underground rave culture with jaw-dropping circus spectacle for one unforgettable night in Johannesburg. Expect immersive production, world-class DJs and high-energy dance floors as the big top meets the beat in this late-night carnival experience.
Everybody Loves Sundays returns to Maracana on April 12, serving up a laid-back day of soulful sounds and smooth house rhythms in the heart of Johannesburg. From deep grooves to uplifting melodies, it’s the perfect Sunday session to unwind, connect and soak in the city’s best vibes.
The Fedgroup Cradle 100 returns with both a two-day stage race and a one-day ride, offering distances of 10 km, 25 km, 45 km, and 100 km. Each route takes you through the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Cradle of Humankind, showcasing its unique landscapes and rich heritage. Along the way, riders will pass through highlights such as Avianto, Cradle Moon, and Pambili.
If a sip and paint experience combined with solving a mystery sparks your inner Sherlock Holmes, this event is right up your alley. Hosted at Nature’s Finest, your ticket includes all painting supplies, drink specials, and, of course, an intriguing mystery with clues gradually revealed throughout the experience.
Roelof Temmingh, the award-winning London-based South African pianist, is returning home for a special recital at Shed & Silo. The programme includes Schubert’s B flat Sonata, works by Rachmaninoff, Ravel’s Une barque sur l’océan, and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, along with Temmingh’s own arrangements from Bernstein’s West Side Story.
Karyendasoul, Scotts Maphuma, and the best local DJs and performers will be under one roof for one night only, bringing you a night of nonstop dancing and incredible vibes. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes so you can dance your way into the early hours of the next day.
