"OR Tambo, you sure know how to welcome a man home" - Anthony Hamilton.

Anthony Hamilton has officially touched down in Johannesburg, and the Grammy-winning soul singer says the City of Gold made him feel right at home from the moment he arrived.
The international star landed at O.R. Tambo International Airport on Tuesday ahead of his highly anticipated performance in Durban this Saturday. Read all about the show here.
Soon after arriving, Hamilton took to social media to share his excitement about the warm reception he received in Johannesburg.
“Touched down in Joburg last night… OR Tambo, you sure know how to welcome a man home,” he wrote on IG.
In the video, Hamilton can be seen posing with security personnel, taking selfies with locals, sharing hugs, and enjoying himself. Dressed casually in a cap reading “Country Boy,” the singer appeared relaxed and joyful, surrounded by his team.
In the IG post, Hamilton referred to himself as “Mzwandile,” a Xhosa name meaning “the family has grown,” adding that South Africa feels like home and that his heart is full.
The star went on to visit one of Johannesburg's favourite entertainment venues - Emperors Palace. He had dinner at Reign restaurant.
Taking to social media, Emperors Palace shared that it was "an intimate evening filled with great food, warm conversation, autograph signings, memorable photos — and even a few dances with the Grammy Award-winning star himself."

Hamilton is not the only international star to sing Joburg’s praises. Earlier this year, rapper Travis Scott also shared his love for the city during his visit for the Circus Maximus tour, which included a show at FNB Stadium. He described his time in South Africa as unforgettable, highlighting the energy of the crowds and the warmth of the people.
Another recent visitor, celebrity chef Sunni Speaks, also described Johannesburg as a “home away from home,” echoing the sentiment shared by many international guests.
Joburg is known for its friendly residents, rich cultural diversity, and vibrant lifestyle. Food lovers can explore everything from local township cuisine to Italian, Indian, and contemporary fusion dishes. Music is also a big part of the Jozi culture - from maskanda, jazz and soul to amapiano, lekompo and house - the city caters to all music lovers.
Jozi also has tons of entertainment places, hotels and great shopping malls.
