The Naval Museum has an enormous collection, all owned by the Defence Ministry. The display starts with scale models of every type of Portuguese boat, and ends with a hangar full of gilded royal barges. Along the way are maps, navigational instruments, and crypto-fascist statues from the Salazar years.
