A Nafarros pilgrimage destination, Adega do Saraiva is mostly famous for its kid goat roast, whose recipe has remained unchanged for decades. But there is more to sink your teeth into: roast cod, cuttlefish with beans and fish stew. Portuguese writer Miguel Esteves Cardoso said it best: “The dishes are superb: delicious, generously apportioned and modestly priced. Be careful not to eat too much.”
Time Out tips:
– Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, a renowned “cozido” is also served.
– Go on an empty stomach. Even the bread will tempt you.
– Wine is not the restaurant's strong suits. If you want the good stuff, bring it with you.
