A friendly tasca at the top of the Elevador da Bica, Casa Liège makes a great pit stop if you're on a budget. For three decades the cook has turned out local favourites such as pernil de porco (leg of pork), pataniscas de bacalhau (cod fritters), bitoque (cheap steak, served with egg and chips) and, in summer, grilled meats. Casa Liège is popular with groups of local and foreign students, and noise levels tend to be high.
