This old Campo de Ourique restaurant was reborn from the ashes in 2015 thanks to the proprietors of neighbouring O Magano. Don't expect, however, the new management to bring their Alentejo food with them. This is a snack bar, both on the counter and sitting at the tables. The menu has typical snacks such as fava beans and “linguíça” sausage, scrambled eggs, octopus “pataniscas”, 40-months-cured Barrancos ham or a tomato soup with poached eggs. If you're still hungry (is it possible?), go for the fisherman's rice, made with fresh grouper.
Time Out tips:
– The partridge pastry is a legacy from the previous management.
– Fun fact: the counter is nine metres long.
– They call themselves “CR” - we're not sure if the allusion to the footballer is deliberate.
