Diners beware: Lisbon has at least five restaurants by this name (it means “deep hole”) – apparently due to the fact that every one of them is located in a basement that you reach going down a flight of stairs. But this is the one that matters: a traditional eatery serving excellent grilled fish, a fine “cozido” (on Thursdays) and prime quality “picanha” rump steak – good enough to rival many a Brazilian restaurant - with round cut fries. Everything is great, including the service.
Time Out tips:
– Two TV sets are on display, making this a great place to watch football.
– If you're addicted to your cellphone, take note: the basement dining room has no reception.
– Besides the “picanha”, there are other good meats, including pork “piano”.
