A Lisbon classic, established 40 years ago, owned by the same family although under different managers (it once even had a Michelin star). The food is inspired by Portuguese tradition but with contemporary techniques and a touch of haute cuisine. The latter comes from chef Duarte Lourenço, who is behind such creative dishes as grouper in clam broth with wild mushrooms or the roast lamb carré, stuffed potato and smoked eggplant, or the cabbage with bread crumbs. Only dinners are served, and you must make a reservation.
Time Out tips:
– They like serving seasonal fare.
– Give them a birthday greeting: the restaurant just turned 40.
– If you knew the old Casa da Comida, there will be very little to recognize.
