Nobody in Cascais calls it by its official name. For locals, it's “Lourdes” or “Dona Lourdes”. Patrons say a heartfelt “obrigado” to her after each meal. That meal will be composed of seafood: Guincho “bruxas”, Roca gooseneck barnacles, Cascais crabs, a huge grilled fish or a simple monkfish risotto... everything is of high quality. If you can't choose, order the sea plate, with grilled sea bass and gilthead sea bream, and also prawns, mussels, potatoes, carrots, and broccoli drenched in good olive oil.
Time Out tips:
– You can just spend a whole day there snacking.
– The outdoors tables are lovely both in sunny days and when the sea is rough.
– It's almost obscene to order meat here, but the beef tournedo is quite good.
